Hydromew in a British Press
Keith Wheaton-Green on our turbines and his visit to our sites in the latest issue of "The Landsman" (page 15):
Climate Change Officer
South Somerset District Council
In his role as part time Climate Change Officer for South Somerset District Council, Keith took the lead 15 years ago to form a South Somerset Hydropower Group of historic mill owners that has now achieved installation at 8 sites. The group has spawned a crossflow turbine manufacturer and a hydropower installer and has a representative at Environment Agency consultation meetings. In 2004 he helped set up the Stour and Vale Hydropower Group in North Dorset and achieved the necessary consents for site owners to develop their sites for hydropower. Since then - acting as a hydropower agent - he has assisted site owners around the country to develop hydropower. Keith is currently leading the development of a small community hydro project in which he has invested. He has recently taken up the role of representing a Polish Archimedean Screw turbine manufacturer in the UK.
